For International Women's Day, the teachers of the Confucius Institute of Chinese Medicine at the University of the Western Cape, together with the Cape Town Chinese Women's Association, held a unique celebration on March 8 at the seaside in Cape Town, South Africa. This event aimed to promote traditional Chinese culture, foster China-Africa cultural exchanges, and extend holiday greetings and high respect to all women.
On the day of the event, Teacher Yang Hang from the Confucius Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of the Western Cape led all the ladies in practicing Baduanjin at the beautiful Table View beach. After warming up with Baduanjin, they engaged in a fitness walk along the coast.
International Women's Day is a time to celebrate women's achievements and advocate for gender equality. As a positive and healthy lifestyle, exercise empowers women and helps them shine in life. The Baduanjin and fitness walk activities perfectly embody the spirit of exercise.
Baduanjin, with its balance of strength and gentleness, movement and stillness, not only strengthens the body but also cultivates the mind, helping women find inner peace and strength amidst their busy lives. Meanwhile, fitness walking, though simple and easy to perform, effectively enhances cardiovascular function and physical fitness, allowing women to embrace life's challenges with greater vitality.
Kicking off International Women's Day with health-focused activities is the best way to interpret the spirit of exercise. It is believed that in the future, more and more women will join the ranks of fitness, using sweat and passion to create even more brilliant life chapters! The celebration concluded successfully in a joyful and harmonious atmosphere.
