The CI at UWC serves as a unique platform for the promotion of Chinese language, culture, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It is a collaborative effort between UWC and main partners Zhejiang Normal University and Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, bridging academic excellence with cross-cultural exchange. Established to foster deeper understanding and integration of Chinese medicinal practices within South Africa, the CI also promotes interdisciplinary learning and research. It was established in 2019.  

 

Mission: to enhance cultural understanding and academic collaboration by integrating Chinese language education and Traditional Chinese Medicine into the South African academic and healthcare context.

Vision: to be a leading center for the dissemination of Chinese culture, language, and medicine, fostering holistic health solutions and cross-cultural exchange in Africa continent.
